Aviatiei
The Aviatiei district is located in the northeastern part of Bucharest, with the Baneasa and Primaverii areas to the north and south and Pipera and Herestrau park to the east and west. This relatively new area of Bucharest, built after 1980, is characterised by its apartment blocks of three or four levels built along tree lined streets offering residents a more intimate city living. Unlike many areas of Bucharest, Aviatiei ('Aviation' in English) does not exhibit the blocks from the late eighties of 8+ levels synonymous with the city, although in the past 10-15 years a small number of slightly taller luxury blocks have been built opening up the rental possibilities in this popular city area.
Living in Aviatiei, positioned very close to the Northern business centre but also to Herestrau Park with its many attractions including restaurants, bars, sports clubs and what you would expect from the largest city park in Europe, a great work/life balance can be achieved. Also the area is well served by public transport including the Aurel Vlaicu metro station which makes a journey into the very heart of the city as little as 15 minutes.
Rental options in the area largely consist of apartments of one or two bedrooms making it perfect for a professional person or couple wanting a great standard of living at an affordable price.
