Aviatorilor
The area of Aviatorilor is centered around the boulevard of the same name, which runs north from Piata Victoriei (Victory Square) and ends at Herastrau park, and is one of the most desired areas for living and business in Bucharest. Until recently there were no new buildings constructed and the area was largely characterised by the large villas which lined the streets many of which have been fully renovated and serve as embassies and bank headquarters. But during the last few years, modern multi-storey buildings have been built in the area, most of which constructed with either the residential or business rental market in mind. This new mix of fine architecture both old and new has given the area a new feel which has become very attractive to prospective residents.
The neighbourhood is home to many expats working for different multinational companies and diplomats working for the numerous embassies located in the area. There are many excellent rental opportunities from 2 bedroom apartments of 70-80 sqm to wide penthouses with 5 bedrooms right up to 1000 sqm villas. The price range in the area reflects the quality and space of the premises.
The neighbourhood is famous for its wealth of green spaces and historical villas, many of which are architectural monuments. Among them are the buildings of the National Geological Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, Grigore Antipa and the Romanian Peasant Museum. The boulevard itself is also very popular with walkers and cyclists alike with its wide pedestrian walkways, cycle lanes and access to the parks of Kiseleff and Herastrau.
