Downtown

Downtown is approximately the area south of Dorobanti and Floreasca and North of University Square and renting here is arguably the closest you'll get to 'living like a local' of all the north Bucharest areas. Living here affords you all the conditions for urban living including, restaurants, supermarkets, bars, several parks including Cismigiu and Icoanei and everything else you would expect from the heart of a European capital. There is also a vibrant cultural scene with theatres and musical halls hosting a never ending stream of events covering all tastes. For those working in the north, there are ample transport links including metro and buses with a journey to Pipera taking as little as 20 mins. The area is best suited to singles or couples due to the hustle and bustle of the city life and the rental opportunities here are not as extensive as in other northern areas and the amount of new blocks are limited. That said, for those wanting to experience real Bucharest living there are opportunities to be had.
